Greene Joins The Titans Backfield; Will CJ2K Approve?
The Titans have added the two in their one-two punch at running back. It’s former Jets running back Shonn Greene, who agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal during his visit on Wednesday.

Greene, a four-year veteran, ran for 1,063 yards last season.

The Titans were looking for a bigger back to complement running back Chris Johnson, and Greene, 27, fits that mold. He’s a 5-foot-11, 225-pounder known for his bruising style of play.

In his four seasons with the Jets he rushed for 3,423 yards on 822 carries, a 4.2-yard average.

As Nashville Tennessean staffer John Glennon notes, Greene is a powerful, durable runner who is one of just seven NFL backs to have posted better than 250 carries and 1,000 yards in each of the last two years. The other six backs in that category are Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch, Johnson, Frank Gore, Steven Jackson and Ray Rice.

Greene is also good near the goal line, which Glennon predicts is one area the Titans would surely use him. Despite the fact that teammate Bilal Powell had over 100 carries, Greene still scored a career-high eight touchdowns last year, which is just two fewer rushing TDs than the Titans scored as a team.

Another stat of interest: According to Stats.com, Greene was an NFL-best 11-for-11 converting third-down runs of fewer than three yards.

So Greene is a proven NFL back with power.

The question for Fantasy owners -- and the question I'll undoubtedly be following up on throughout the offseason -- is how much Greene's presence hurts Johnson's value.

And how much it hurts his feelings.

Johnson told NFL.com last month he wouldn't be happy if Tennessee went to a two-back system.

Now that seems to be exactly what the Titans have in mind.
