Surprise! Harvin Traded To The Seahawks
After insisting that Percy Harvin is not for sale, the Minnesota Vikings are shifting course. As FOXSports insider Jay Glazer first reported, the Vikings have agreed to a trade that will send Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for draft picks, pending the wide receiver passes a physical.

Both Glazer and ESPN's Adam Schefter are reporting that Seattle will send their first round pick and a seventh rounder in April's draft as well as a mid-round pick next year for Harvin.

The deal can be finalized at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, when the new league year begins. It’s not known who else was interested.

Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports the Seahawks were “far and away” the most aggressive.

It was reported over the weekend that Harvin was demanding a trade for the second time in less than a year. Vikings general manager Rick Spielman has said all offseason that wouldn't happen, but here we are.

Also according to Florio, though the final terms aren’t yet known, one term is clear: Harvin will be getting paid.

Again citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Florio reports the deal won’t happen without a new contract for Harvin. He’s currently entering the final year of his rookie contract.

The question becomes how much will the Seahawks pay? As Florio suggests, they've certainly been talking to Harvin’s agent, Joel Segal, and they’re comfortable with the asking price.

Harvin was believed to be looking for Calvin Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald money.

Now, as NBC Sports' Evan Silva points out, assuming the deal goes through as planned, the Seahawks will open the season with 24-year-old Russell Wilson throwing to 27-year-old Sidney Rice, and 25-year-old Harvin and Golden Tate, with 27-year-old Marshawn Lynch in the backfield.

That's a group of skill players that boast the potential to make Seattle's offense one of the more explosive in the league.

And the Vikings?

The good news is they now have the 23rd and 25th overall picks in April's draft (also the 52nd and 83rd).

On a less positive note, they currently have just four wideouts -- Jarius Wright, Greg Childs, Stephen Burton and Chris Summers -- under contract for the 2013 season.

For now, Harvin would be replaced in the starting lineup by Wright, a fourth-round pick in 2012 who did a decent job after Harvin’s season ended with a sprained ankle. Burton is also a player the team has high hopes for.

Still, it seems like they'll be dipping into the free agent market with a bit more alacrity than previously expected.

They have been mentioned as an outlier in speculation about Mike Wallace's ultimate destination. Greg Jennings has also been mentioned as a possible target. Wallace might be the more useful weapon at this point given his ability to stretch the field.

Stay tuned. ... It's safe to say this move will be of great interest to Fantasy owners going forward.
