The Facts: Despite coming off a 2006 season in which he won Offensive Rookie of the Year and helped to double the Tennessee Titans' win total from the previous year, Young said he felt lost in training camp last summer. He was hurting. He was overwhelmed. At age 24 -- only one year into his NFL career -- he said he considered retirement.
Diehards Line:Say what? "I really thought long and hard about it," Young told NFL.com on Thursday. "There was so much going on with my family. It was crazy being an NFL quarterback. It wasn't fun anymore. All of the fun was out of it. All of the excitement was gone. All I was doing was worrying about things. My teammates helped lift me out of it. ..." Wow. Here's hoping he can maintain the appropriate level of motivation this year -- with surly new coordinator Mike Heimerdinger riding him like a rented mule.
