The Facts: The 49ers have waived Walter, the team announced on Wednesday.
Diehards Line:
Walter appeared in four games for San Francisco in 2020, mainly on special teams. He averaged 18.6 yards on five kick returns. He also took a carry for three yards and caught a pass for 27 yards. Walter entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers in 2019, but was waived at the end of training camp. He then spent time with the Giants and Dallas Renegades of the XFL before heading back to San Francisco in September of last year. The Niners are stacked at RB heading into the summer with holdovers Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty joined by free-agent addition Wayne Gallman and rookies Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell.
