The Facts: According to JoeBucsFan.com, Martin just looks quicker. Also, he looks bulkier than he did two or three weeks ago. Looks like a guy who's been pounding it in the weight room.
Diehards Line:
Martin played in just eight games in 2016 due to injury and a four-game suspension to end the season (which will also cost him the first three games this year). He averaged a paltry 2.9 yards per carry on 144 totes. The PED suspension allows Tampa to void the rest of the guarantees on the five-year, $35.75 million contract Martin signed last offseason after he rushed for 1,402 yards in 2015. That said, Martin has clearly been having a solid offseason and, aside from drafting Jeremy Nichols in the fifth round of Aprils' draft, the Bucs didn't add significantly to a depth chart featuring Charles Sims, Jacquizz Rodgers, and Peyton Barber behind Martin. It'll be interesting to see if the rave reviews on Martin keep rolling in once August arrives.
