The Facts: Daniel has asked for his release and it is expected to be granted today, a source tells ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Diehards Line:
No real surprise here in the wake of Nick Foles' signing. Daniel, 30, arrived in Philly with starting aspirations befitting of a quarterback who'd just gotten a three-year, $21 million deal. While the team had hoped to trade him, things appear to be moving more quickly. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Daniel has "garnered interest" from both the Saints and Bears. It remains to be seen if teams needing a starting quarterback, like the Browns, Texans and the Jets, end up throwing their hats into the ring as well once Daniel is released. Stay tuned.
