The Facts: According to MMQB.com's Albert Breer, the Texans are promoting LBs coach Mike Vrabel to defensive coordinator.
Diehards Line:
Current DC Romeo Crennel expected to stay, likely as assistant HC. As KBME Radio in Houston's Jayson Braddock noted, Crennel turns 70 this year. Braddock added Crennel is "an easy going guy that understands the business. Instead of retiring, he'll stay around the game." Promoting Crennel to assistant HC would also help HC Bill O’Brien spend more time on the offense after firing OC George Godsey. Vrabel, meanwhile, is a promising young coaching prospect who now moves up the ladder.
