The Facts: The Dolphins haven't made the playoffs since 2008 and even then the team was bounced out in the wild-card round by Baltimore. RB Jay Ajayi knows that much of the Dolphins' advancement hinges on Tannehill's play. Thus far, Ajayi is pleased by what he's seen this offseason from the quarterback. "Definitely just seeing a lot more growth just through this year, you know last year for me I was a rookie so I was still trying to just figure everything out, now just being in the mix, being out there with him in the huddle and everything, it's been really great," Ajayi said.
Diehards Line:Ajayi added: "Seeing how he's been able to work with coach (Adam) Gase and seeing what he's been doing on the line of scrimmage, just being able to make those different calls and things like that, it's been really cool to see and I'm excited to see him blossom and really dominate this year. ..." Tannehill finished the 2015 season hitting 61.9 percent of his passes for an 88.7 passer rating. He was ninth in the NFL in passing yards, 21st in completion percent, 15th in touchdowns, tied for 12th in most interceptions, and 21st in passer rating. But Tannehill was among the worst quarterbacks in the AFC on both third down and in fourth quarters. In other words, Tannehill was a middle-of-the-road quarterback, the same thing he's been in his previous three seasons. That needs to change if the Dolphins are going to progress.
