The Facts: Bortles threw a franchise-record 35 touchdowns last season, including 24 to receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns combined. Now, the trio enters its third-year in the NFL with a heightened reputation around the league. They are working to enhance it even further. "All of the receivers have been in our locker room at some point this offseason," Bortles said. "It's been cool to see them work together and talk through some stuff as well. The chemistry is continuing to grow, not only on the field, but off the field as well -- in the weight room and in the locker room. That builds trust. It's a special room of receivers that are all super talented."
Diehards Line:
The Jaguars were dreadful across the board offensively during Bortles’ rookie season, but the unit made great strides in some areas under first-year offensive coordinator Greg Olson during last season’s 5-11 campaign. The Jaguars improved from 15.6 points a game in 2014 to 23.5. That represented a jump from dead last in the league to 14th. The passing game ranked 10th in yards in the NFL, while Bortles tied for second in touchdown passes. While the Jaguars expect to run the ball better this season with T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory as their top ball carriers, fantasy owners will continue to hold high expectations for the passing attack -- especially if Julius Thomas and Marqise Lee can avoid injury this time around.
