The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... All along, we’ve said that until Bryant himself threatened to miss games, the threat would seem hollow. So as soon as it was reported this morning that he did just that, the Cowboys are putting out word he did not. According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones denied via text that Bryant had threatened to miss training camp or regular season games.

As PFT's Darin Gantt suggested, considering the original report said it happened in a conversation with Jones, now we have to wonder whether it was said and misunderstood, or not said at all. Maybe Bryant did and maybe he didn’t, but at this stage, it’s clear the Cowboys don’t consider it a serious threat. Meanwhile, they have until Wednesday to sign Bryant to a long-term deal, and it’s hard to tell at this point where the posturing from either side is getting them. ... We'll be watching for more (and it will come).
