The Facts: Sanchez said he believes Chip Kelly will have an open competition between himself and Sam Bradford this offseason, similar to how Michael Vick and Nick Foles competed for the starting job before the 2013 season. “Absolutely,” Sanchez said. “That's the way I understand it.”
Diehards Line:We’ve all assumed Sam Bradford would be handed the Eagles’ opening-day starting quarterback job as long as he’s healthy. And that Sanchez would back him up, and Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow would battle it out for the No. 3 spot. Sanchez clearly sees it differently. ... Remember, the former Jet replaced Foles halfway through last season after Foles suffered a broken collarbone during a win over the Texans. In eight games, Sanchez completed a franchise-record 64.1 percent of his passes -- far above the 55.1 percent he completed with the Jets -- and threw 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Kelly traded Foles and a second-round pick to the Rams in March in exchange for Bradford, who hasn’t played a full season since 2012. In other words, the notion of Sanchez starting again at some point isn't a reach. And if he does, fantasy owners shouldn't shy away.
