The Facts: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan, Gore has told people he will sign this week with the Eagles.
Diehards Line:As previously noted, the Eagles and Colts have both been mentioned as serious contenders for Gore -- to the point where the 49ers realized they were unlikely to keep him. According to Profootballtalk.com, citing sources independent of ESPN's, the deal is expected to pay Gore $7.5 guaranteed in 2015-16. If this is how it plays out, Gore will join Chris Polk (who they tendered as an unrestricted free agent) and Darren Sproles at the top of the team's running back depth chart. At 31, Gore might not have many seasons left but he's continued to demonstrate an ability to get the job done when given opportunities. Stay tuned. We'll follow up as need.
