The Facts:
According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, multiple league sources say the 49ers are very interested in Smith.
Diehards Line:As the Ravens prepare for free agency, they're probably looking at more departures than additions. Smith will likely be among them. The speedy wideout is expected to command annual salaries in the $8 million to $9 million-a-year range and all indications are the Ravens won't go that high. Meanwhile, the 49ers could lose Michael Crabtree to free agency while Stevie Johnson (35) and Brandon Lloyd (14) combined to make only 49 catches last season (and Lloyd might be on the way out as well). The 49ers ranked among the league's worst in several passing categories last season, so it would be no surprise if the club makes a push for Smith. The Texans, Patriots, Panthers and Dolphins might also be in the hunt.
