The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... McCown visited Buffalo but left without a contract, Bills insider Vic Carucci said on today’s PFT Live.
Diehards Line:
The Bills want to add at least one veteran quarterback after the retirement of Kyle Orton, who finished last season as the starter. Former first-round pick EJ Manuel is still on the roster, but it doesn’t appear that the Bills’ brass has a lot of confidence in him as the franchise quarterback. As PFT's Michael David notes, it’s still possible that McCown could come to terms with the Bills, but he’s going to take his time, and nothing is expected to happen in Buffalo this week. Smith went on to suggest if the Bills choose to wait until free agency starts next month to find a quarterback, an intriguing option could be Mark Sanchez, who played for Bills coach Rex Ryan when they were both with the Jets.
