The Facts: Kaepernick, who last month said he was compiling a list of quarterback experts with which to work this offseason, has settled on a spot. According to his agent, Kaepernick will train in the Phoenix area at EXOS performance where he will study with former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and quarterback coach Dennis Gile, who played in the NFL, CFL and Arena League.
Diehards Line:
Warner, 43, is a four-time Pro Bowler and MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV who retired after the 2009 season. He will work with Kaepernick on film study and on 7-on-7 drills. Gile, meanwhile, is a former quarterback at Central Missouri State where in 2002 he set a passing efficiency record with a rating of 214. A number of NFL wide receivers, including the Giants' Odell Beckham, are expected to train at EXOS this offseason. So will a number of Kaepernick's teammates. Receivers Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington and FB Bruce Miller are expected to attend. ... Kaepernick's third season as the team's starter was his roughest. His completion percentage, which was 70.2 after the first three games of the season, ended at 60.5. His 86.4 passer rating in 2014 was the lowest it's been since he became a starter two years ago. Working with quarterback experts in the offseason is a departure for Kaepernick. He's trained alongside a few close teammates in Atlanta and in Miami in previous offseasons but never at such a structured establishment as EXOS.
