The Facts: NFL pundits and fans waiting to see Lynch go gently into the twilight years of his career will apparently have to wait another year. Seahawks RBs coach Sherman Smith says he does not anticipate Lynch's workload lessening in 2014. "We could be running-back-by-committee," Smith said. "But who does it hurt? It hurts us because we're watering down Marshawn's reps so we can get other backs in there."
Diehards Line:
Smith went on to explain: "To me, there's a drop off (behind Lynch). You take Marshawn out of the game, there's a drop off to the next guy. So why would we do that?" The next guys behind Lynch are third-year player Robert Turbin and second-year standout Christine Michael, who many observers believe can be a star in this league. But it might take some time. As the Redzone.org suggests, it appears the game plan in Seattle is to ride Lynch until the wheels fall off, which NFL history would suggest may be sooner than later. Lynch turned 28 in April and has amassed 1,002 carries over the past three seasons including playoffs. Still, fantasy football owners should count on another busy season.
