The Facts: According to Manning, the entire offense was at the Giants' facility this week to begin work on fixing the unit that owner John Mara labeled "broken" after a disastrous 2013. "I'm not quite sure the numbers on what the percentage of participation is, but I feel it is very high. All the offensive guys are there," Manning said Sunday after shedding the protective boot on his surgically repaired ankle.
Diehards Line:
The rules finally permit that Manning can work alongside new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo in an offseason he admitted comes with an extra "sense of urgency." Even though Manning's likely to miss at least part of the upcoming OTAs and minicamp, Star-Ledger staffer Jordan Raanan notes there is plenty that can be accomplished. Manning can offer suggestions to the playbook and get a head-start on learning the new offense's intricacies. Manning is already digging into the playbook and working hand-in-hand with the new offensive boss. He considered it a productive first week that included plenty of studying at home. "We got a lot of information, learned a lot asking a lot of questions about the offense," Manning said. "We made some strides, just got to keep working." As fantasy football owners with Manning on their rosters can tell you, there's plenty of room for improvement. It's good to see Manning realizes that as well.
