The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... HC Jim Harbaugh is confident Kaepernick is innocent of any wrong-doing connected to a police-investigated incident in Miami early this month. "Looking at Colin Kaepernick's situation, at some point there needs to be a resolution to some of this jump-the-gun, witch-hunt scenario we're seeing," Harbaugh said Friday.
Diehards Line:
The Miami Police Department confirmed Kaepernick, Niners WR Quinton Patton and Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette were named as persons involved in an incident report filed April 4. In a message on Twitter, Kaepernick promised fans their faith in him was not misplaced. "I've seen one side reported. I've heard the other side," Harbaugh said. "I feel very good there'll be a good resolution, and hopefully a just one, too. I hate to see his reputation be the victim. ... Winston Churchill had a great quote: 'A lie will get halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put on its pants,' At some point there needs to be a resolution to this scenario. The only victim in Colin's case is Colin's reputation." As NFL.com notes, Harbaugh leaves no doubt where he stands on the matter. The Niners are being more cautious, having pulled the plug on Kaepernick contract negotiations until the incident is resolved.
