The Facts: Despite the acquisition of former Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew, McFadden is likely to open yet another season as the starting running back for the Raiders, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com.
Diehards Line:
As previously outlined in more detail, the money suggests otherwise. MJD is making more money this season, a fact that leads us to believe he at least gets first shot. That doesn't mean he wins the job. But we'll remind you again that McFadden has averaged a meager 3.3 yards per carry in each of the last two seasons. And as the Redzone.org notes, even if he manages to hold off Jones-Drew, McFadden has never played a full season and remains a huge injury risk. Whatever the case, the lead back in this committee is going to be of at least some interest to fantasy football owners and we'll continue to report back as the situation plays out.
