The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com sees some changes coming this offseason in the Eagles' receiving corps. While he believes the team will put the franchise tag on DeSean Jackson later this month, Caplan as well as NFL Network's Jason La Canfora believes the Eagles will shop Jackson around the league. Caplan also predicts the Eagles will pursue free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress.
Diehards Line:It was no secret last year that Burress wanted to play for the Eagles as he left prison wearing a Philadelphia ball cap. The Jets won a bidding war, giving Plax over $3 million guaranteed (but he doesn't seem to be all that interested in returning). Caplan believes Burress could upgrade the Eagles' red-zone offense, and points out that in-house supposed red-zone target Riley Cooper "doesn't fight for the football" enough to excel in that role. The Eagles likely would not be signing Plax as a starter. He'd be a third receiver and inside-the-20s guy. ... Stay tuned. The team's plans will undoubtedly become clearer as we close in on the Mar. 13 opening of the free agent signing period.
