The Facts: Manning is done. This according to former Brat Pack golden boy Rob Lowe. "Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow," Lowe tweeted Wednesday, then added: "#Colts fans, let's hope my info is wrong. Don't like being wrong, but this time... I'm hoping."
Diehards Line:After attempting to scoop the entire population, Lowe reached out to NFL Network's Rich Eisen to confirm the earth-shattering news. "@richeisen My people are saying Manning will retire today," Lowe said. "What do you hear?" "Get out," Eisen shot back. ... NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora took it a step further. "Ran the Rob Lowe Peyton Manning tweet past Manning's agent, Tom Condon, a little while ago," La Canfora tweeted. "Was first he'd heard of it and said if Manning was retiring it was news to him. I told Tom I had a feeling this wouldn't be the last call he got on this topic. ..." Hopefully this rumor will die a quick and painless death. Or come true. ... We'll obviously be watching for more (but don't hold your breath).
