The Facts: The Bills have held contract talks with Jackson, GM Buddy Nix said. "We want to extend Fred," Nix said. "I'd like for Fred to finish his career as a Bill. He's meant a lot to us."
Diehards Line:Jackson, who has one year remaining on his current deal but is woefully underpaid, suffered a season-ending broken fibula against Miami in Week 11. He finished the season with 934 yards rushing and 442 yards receiving for a combined total of 1,376 yards. He accounted for 40 percent of the Bills' offense up to the point of his injury. C.J. Spiller filled in admirably and showed signs of being ready for a greater role, but a healthy Jackson still has plenty left in the tank and the Bills would be wise to retain him.
