The Facts: According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, someone familiar with Burress' thinking believes he prefers to avoid New York, to play in a warmer climate, and that his preference is to live near his offseason home in Miami.
Diehards Line:Although the Giants have made it clear they would entertain the notion of bringing Burress back, Vacchiano's source suggested that Burress believes he'd be better off far from the scrutiny of the New York media that not only remembers but which would undoubtedly recount every sordid detail of his past (including the shooting incident that sent him to prison as well as his tendency to break team rules with abandon) at every opportunity. That said, Burress, who will turn 34 in August, likely isn't in a position to pick and choose his suitors after spending two and a half years away from the game.
