The Facts: New OC Greg Knapp spoke to Seattle-area beat reporters this afternoon and covered a lot of ground in a 40-minute conversation. Knapp said Seattle will go to more of a zone blocking scheme, similar to the one Denver ran under Mike Shanahan for several years. ... Knapp likes the zone blocking scheme because you can still be effective with different running backs and different lineman filling in.
Diehards Line:Knapp also said the goal for Seattle's offense will be balance. He wants an offense that capable of winning when the quarterback throws 30 passes one week and then have a running game capable of carrying 30 or 40 times the next week. Of primary interest to Fantasy owners, Knapp also said he likes using multiple backs because of the durability issue, and expects T.J. Duckett to fill a similar role as he did in Atlanta. In other words, look for Duckett, who scored 31 rushing touchdowns in four season with the Falcons to handle the short-yardage and goal-line work with a bit more consistency this season than he did last year.
