Mayfield Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week; Godwin Limited
Following up on this week's Team Notes. ... Baker Mayfield is being recognized after he played perhaps the greatest game of his career on Sunday.
Mayfield has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Mayfield had 381 passing yards, four touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. He's just the second quarterback ever to have a perfect passer rating at Lambeau Field, joining Aaron Rodgers.
As Profootballtalk.com's Michael David Smith reminded readers, this is the fourth player of the week honor of Mayfield's career. He was also NFC offensive player of the week last season in Week 14 with the Rams, and he was AFC offensive player of the week twice with the Browns, once in 2018 and once in 2020.
Meanwhile, Chris Godwin (knee) was listed as limited on Wednesday's injury report.
Godwin also dealt with this same issue leading up to Sunday's win over the Packers. He missed two full days before working fully Friday. While he entered the weekend as questionable, Godwin was unstoppable in Lambeau Stadium, finishing with 10 catches (on 12 targets) for 155 yards, including four plays of 20-plus yards.
His status bears watching, but Godwin is on a roll. ...
Finally. ... The Buccaneers could get rookie wideout Rakim Jarrett back in the lineup before the end of the season.
Jarrett has been designated to return from injured reserve. He has been out since injuring his quad in Week 11.
The designation to return means Jarrett can practice with the team for the next 21 days. He can be activated at any point in that window, but will not be able to play again if he's not activated in that span.
Jarrett made the Bucs as an undrafted free agent this year. He had four catches for 60 yards and a special teams tackle while appearing in the first 10 games of the season.
