With Carson Palmer stating that he is done playing in Cincinnati, the Bengals had to address the position early. Jordan Palmer and Dan LeFevour are on the roster but they have thrown a combined 15 passes in regular-season games and are not the long-term answer. Assuming Carson Palmer makes good on his word, this is a situation where Dalton will be asked to start immediately. According to his NFL.com scouting report, however, Dalton might have a difficult transition to the NFL. He is undersized and will not be able to take off and run at the next level. He is generally an accurate passer, and that should help in OC Jay Gruden's West Coast scheme.
