The Jets have a need along the defensive line. Shaun Ellis was the longest-tenured Jet in 2010 with 11 years of experience. But he was not given a contract extension prior to the season and doesn't fit into the team's plans anymore. The Jets must get younger at this position in 2011. According to his NFL.com scouting report, Wilkerson is an elite 3-4 defensive end prospect with idea size, excellent shedding ability and the athleticism to pursue from the backside and rush the passer.
