Indeed, even new HC Ron Rivera, best known for his work on the defensive side of the ball, has come out and said his team's biggest goal is finding a franchise QB. The question is whether Newton is it. According to his NFL.com scouting report, Newton is one of the most athletically gifted quarterbacks in draft history. However, most observers believe he has a ways to go before turning into a productive, reliable NFL starter. The good news? Carolina has a solid offensive line and a potentially strong rushing attack, both of which should aid Newton's development.
