Report: Brett Favre Won't Need Major Surgery
(5/9 7:15 PT)

The Facts:
Favre underwent an MRI today which revealed a torn biceps tendon and some calcification in the area but he would need only arthroscopic surgery to repair the injury, according to a report by ESPN.com. The report said Favre could avoid arthroscopic surgery if he decides to play next season. Reported by the Newark Star-Ledger

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In the wake of this report, Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio suggested this issue ultimately will be resolved based on whether Favre can play without surgery of any kind. Indeed, Favre could have a difficult time recovering from any surgery because of his past addiction to painkillers. ... Back to the matter at hand. The most worrisome news included in Star-Ledger staffer's Dave Hutchinson's report cited above, is this: "Favre is expected to take several weeks to decide whether he'll return next season. ..." Who would have guessed. ... Stay tuned.
