The Facts:
Mark Wilf, the team's president and co-owner, was making an appearance as part of a community outreach event. Here is what Wilf had to say when asked if he could confirm the team's interest in Favre: "Certainly a player of Favre's (credentials), a Hall of Fame QB, with the competitive (drive) he has, that is a player that we would have interest as we would have other players. But, again, it's (a) process of evaluation and a variety of factors that go into it, and that has to play itself out and I defer to our coach and our personnel people to really evaluate those issues."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Wilf also said he had no knowledge of any direct meetings between Favre and Vikings officials -- before adding the team doesn't discuss such matters publicly. Yahoo! Sports’ Rich Schwartz reported last week that Favre had indicated to the Vikings that he was retiring. Asked about that report, Wilf said: “What I can tell you is that type of decision is up to Brett Favre, and I’ll leave it to Brett Favre to give you that answer. ..." We're not holding our breath.
