The Facts:
As his off-season program opened Monday, HC Marvin Lewis said he has talked to Johnson but wouldn't elaborate. Lewis did address Johnson's absence in general with the club, but players said Lewis didn't talk about Johnson specifically. "I've talked to Chad a few times," Lewis said. "My conversations with Chad this year have been no different than they were a year ago."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In case you haven't been paying attention, the unhappy Johnson won't be taking part in the off-season program as part of his campaign to convince team officials to trade him. According to SI.com's Peter King, owner Mike Brown and Lewis won't let Johnson force them into a trade that would screw their salary-cap situation this year -- unless Johnson extends his holdout into training camp and the exhibition season. ... Whatever the case, the drama continues. Asked this morning if Johnson's trade rants could have a negative impact on the Bengals, Carson Palmer said, "I'm not going to get too involved in it. ..." The rest of us will, though. Stay tuned.
