PFT editor Mike Florio believes the fact that the Giants articulated a trade request for Shockey is an indication they're willing to move on without him. Florio further suggests that position is understandable if you believe Shockey has been a disruptive influence in the organization. One can certainly argue that Eli Manning was more effective after Shockey went down with a broken leg than he was with the mercurial tight end in the lineup.
