Elam has agreed to a four-year, $9 million deal with the Falcons, according to his Atlanta-based agent Jack Reale.

The acquisition of Elam, 38, means that reliable veteran kicker Morten Andersen, 47, will not return to the Falcons, where he has been nearly automatic from 43 yards in for a team that has had trouble scoring the past two seasons. It also means the Denver Broncos, Elam's former team, will be looking for a new kicker for the first time in 15 years.
