The Facts:
The Giants announced announced Hixon was waived/injured, which is a prerequisite to his being placed on injured reserve if he clears waivers.  Reported by the Newark Star-Ledger

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Giants replaced Hixon, who suffered a torn ACL during off-season workouts, on the roster with Adam Jennings, a 2006 Atlanta Falcons draft pick who played last season and part of 2008 with the Detroit Lions. But as the Star-Ledger notes, the addition of Jennings, will not blunt the loss of Hixon. The best-case scenario for New York? Hixon will clears waivers and returns with the team in 2011. But he'll miss the 2010 season no matter what.
