The Facts:
Following up on
today's big story.... With Favre dropping a bombshell on Friday regarding the fact that he needs surgery on his ankle in order to return for another season, HC Brad Childress claims to have no further insight as to whether Favre will return for a second year in Minnesota, his 20th overall. "I still don't know," Childress said Friday, per Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com. "That's my story and I'm sticking to it, from way back when."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Childress said he doesn't think Favre is using the injury as an excuse to avoid training camp. "I don't have a lot of illusions about the timing of the thing," Childress said. ... And he shouldn't. As PFT's Mike Florio suggests, Childress likely already has told Favre that he can show up whenever he wants. That's precisely what Favre did last year, and it worked out fine. ... Stay tuned. We strongly suspect more Favre-related headlines are coming -- justified or not.
