Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News reports Russell went through all drills in Raiders mini-camp, looked pretty good, but Charlie Frye ran with the first team and Jason Campbell third team.

Afterwards, Russell said he looked forward to the competition with Campbell, who is expected to be the team's starter. ... Russell, meanwhile, added he didn't know what would happen in future. "My thing is to keep coming out to work until they tell me not to," he said. ... Per Kawakami, Russell was amenable to speaking, but team PR staffers started getting nervous about certain questions and pulled him away from reporters eventually.
