Browns Release Jamal Lewis
(2/17 3:26 PT)

The Facts:
The Browns announced on Wednesday evening that they have terminated the contract of Lewis. "We want to thank him for his contributions to the Browns and wish him nothing but the best moving forward," HC Eric Mangini said. "I'm sure he will be successful in whatever he decides to pursue." Reported by ClevelandBrowns.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Lewis’ 2009 season ended on Dec. 2 when he was placed on injured reserve with post-concussion symptoms. Lewis carried 143 times last year for 500 yards. He did not score a touchdown. ... While Lewis said he planned to retire at one point last year, he seemed to backtrack after the Browns final game. Now, if he does return, it will be for another team.
