Jerome Harrison In Line For No. 1 Spot... If Retained
(2/18 8:16 PT)

The Facts:
After four years of waiting and playing behind 1,000-yard rushers, Harrison might finally get the chance to begin a season as the Browns' top running back. But they have to sign him first. Reported by the Northeast Ohio News-Herald

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In case you missed it, Jamal Lewis was released on Wednesday. ... Harrison came on strong late last year with Lewis sidelined by concussion-related issues. Harrison rushed for 561 yards in the last three games. Earlier in the season, with Lewis sidelined by a sore hamstring, Harrison got 29 carries and rushed for 121 yards against the Bengals. But he will be a free agent on March 5 unless the Browns sign him to an extension before then. The Browns can secure the right of first refusal by tendering Harrison a one-year offer of $1.101 million by March 5. A tender of $2.396 million would give the Browns right of first refusal and a first-round pick in compensation.
