The Facts:
Smith, recovering from surgery on his left knee, has been working out at the University of Miami in order to regain flexibility. Smith is not expected to be ready for training camp in July and has not put a timetable on his return. "I just know that I'm going to be ready for next year," Smith said.

Pressed further about his return, Smith said;"How soon? I don't know. But everything's going good so far, so I'm just going to continue to work and go day by day. ..." After his season ended prematurely due to a Week 14 knee injury, Smith hasn't had much choice but to take the day-by-day approach. He was already playing through multiple shoulder injuries when he hurt his knee at Baltimore. He had surgery shortly thereafter and has been working through treatment and rehab ever since. For now, it's safe to say Smith has a lot to prove before moving back into draftworthy status this year. But we will be watching.
