The Facts:
While speaking with San Antonio radio station WOAI-AM on Tuesday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones clarified his comments regarding running back Barber. "We all know how tough Marion Barber is," Jones said. "When he had his injury I felt, 'Look, you have to shoot him to keep him off the football field.' So I was surprised that we didn't have him."

Previously, Jones said he was surprised Barber didn't play in Sunday's game at Pittsburgh because of a dislocated little toe and calf soreness. The perception was that Jones questioned Barber's toughness. Jones disputed that notion. "That was not meant to be critical of his toughness. It did come out that way, but fundamentally, it was because he is so tough, you would have thought that he could play." On Monday, Barber said his calf is doing much better, and that he wasn't aware of Jones' comments. It's still not clear if Barber will play this week, however.
