Following up on a previous item. ... According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, Walker denies an ESPN report that he wanted to retire, only to be persuaded to stay by owner Al Davis. "That's a done issue," Walker said late Saturday following the Raiders’ evening practice. "That’s something that obviously people hear stuff. I’m here practicing, waiting, and (I) obviously can’t wait till the season starts. I’m in a great frame of mind."

According to Schefter, Walker indicated he is unhappy -- but not enough so to retire. The veteran wideout instead claimed that miscommunication with assistant coaches led to his frustration. But as the San Francisco Chronicle suggested tonight, Walker has every reason to be upset with his performance. Brought in to be the star receiver, he has been very ordinary and barely noticeable during camp. On Thursday, Lane Kiffin told reporters he wasn't seeing enough progress from Walker and that additional practice time was needed. ... Stay tuned. We'll continue to follow up on this one.
