Roydell Williams Still Hurting; Still Can't Practice
(6/24 12:10 PT)

The Facts:
In January, as he prepared for his first playoff game, Williams broke his right ankle in a non-contact drill. He had surgery and turned his attention to 2008. Closing in on six months later, Williams still isn't practicing. He's still hurting. His sights are set on training camp, but with the notion he's going to have to play in pain. Meanwhile, his place in the starting lineup looks like it now belongs to newcomer Justin McCareins. Reported by the Nashville Tennessean

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Prior to the injury Williams appeared on the verge of becoming a breakout player. He finished the season tied for the team lead in receptions (55), was second in receiving yards (719) and first in receiving touchdowns (4). Now, heading into the final year of his contract, nothing is promised. Justin Gage, who also had 55 receptions last season, is expected to start, and McCareins has the inside track for the other starting slot. Biren Ealy has made a big jump this offseason, while Brandon Jones, rookie Lavelle Hawkins and Mike Williams have all had their moments.
