The Facts:
Johnson settled a lawsuit filed against him in connection with a comedy club raffle. Johnson and the Funny Bone Comedy Club agreed Wednesday to pay $100,000 to the suit’s 30 plaintiffs, who alleged that the Bengals wide receiver promised to give away a Lexus car to a patron during a Dec. 19, 2006, raffle at the Newport club. Instead, the plaintiffs claimed, Johnson gave the $45,000 car to a girlfriend as paid ticket holders watched.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Gave it to a girlfriend? That's awesome. ... Obviously the need to re-engage with locals after spending the offseason badmouthing the Bengals -- a tactic that didn't play well with the home crowd -- prompted the settlement. The case had been scheduled for trial June 30.
