SportsBusiness Daily is reporting that Brett Favre will be the cover athlete for the upcoming "Madden NFL 09," video game. Favre is expected to appear on CBS' "Late Night" tonight to make the official announcement. Reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That would eliminate the "Dreaded Madden Cover Curse" from the equation for more superstitious Fantasy owners. ... For those who haven't been paying attention, the "jinx" comes from top prospects like Shaun Alexander, Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick and Marshall Faulk all coming up seriously short after appearing on the cover. Putting the recently-retired Favre on the box this year, means Fantasy owners can rest easy -- assuming Favre doesn't unretire.
