Carr has agreed to terms of a one-year deal with the Giants, according to a person familiar with the negotiations who is not authorized to speak for the Giants. The contract is being written up now, and we'll know more about how much it's worth shortly.

Carr was recently released by the Carolina Panthers after one season. The Giants are shopping for a veteran backup for Eli Manning. Giants QB coach Chris Palmer used to tutor Carr in Houston, so there are those on the team familiar with his abilities -- or lack thereof. It's safe to say Carr won't threaten Eli Manning's No. 1 status any time soon.
