According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, the Texans are close to a deal with Tennessee free-agent Brown, who arrived in Houston for a visit Wednesday. The two sides are said to be hammering out details on an agreement.

Brown was a free agent last year and wound up re-signing with the Titans. The 6-3, 220-pound Brown, who turns 27 next month, is known as an upright runner who has success with draws and catching balls out the backfield. He would serve as a compliment to starter Ahman Green, although the Texans are said to be very high on young talent Chris Taylor. ... Stay tuned. More if/when a deal is struck; it might be worth noting the Bears are interested in Brown, a Chicago native.
