The Facts:
The Panthers will host a visit Friday from Hackett. ... There is competition; Hackett visited Washington on Wednesday and was to visit Tampa Bay today. But his agent said Wednesday that Hackett has strong interest in the Panthers. "His goal is to play for a playoff contender and he thinks the Panthers will be that with their QB (Jake Delhomme) healthy again," agent Kevin Robinson said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to Observer Stan Olson, Hackett would be a huge boost for Carolina, giving the team a No. 2 receiver opposite Steve Smith. Right now the spot falls to second-year receiver Dwayne Jarrett, who was arrested early Tuesday and charged with driving while impaired (he has an April 11 court date), or Muhsin Muhammad, 34, who Olson suggests, might be more effective as a No. 3 receiver.
