The Facts:
We recently heard a rumor that, if the Lions had signed running back Julius Jones, Kevin Jones would have been cut. We’ve now been told that Jones is telling teammates that he has been released. The rumor/report is not yet confirmed. Stay tuned.

Remember: Jones recently underwent reconstructive knee surgery; releasing him would require the team to reach an injury settlement. If so, Jones would certainly know about it. ... Whatever the case, we'll remain skeptical until further evidence is brought forth. For now, take it for what it is: An unsubstantiated rumor.
