The Facts:
Keep hearing that the Patriots’ top priority on the free agent market will be receiver. Would have to think that Vincent Jackson (Chargers) and Mike Wallace (Steelers) are at the top of the list.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
So wrote Globe staffer Greg Bedard, who went on to suggest he doesn't see how San Diego can afford not to franchise Jackson and then at least trade him (although Chargers GM A.J. Smith
claims he's not looking to tag V-Jax). ... For what it's worth, Bedard would go with Jackson over Wallace despite Jackson being 29 and four years older. Both would require a pick and contract, most likely. Another option? Brandon Lloyd will be 31 in July, so he’ll be cheaper and won’t cost a pick (and he would like nothing better than working with Patriots OC Josh McDaniels). ... Meanwhile, whoever the team acquires will be working with Wes Welker, who ESPN.com's Mike Reiss reports will get the franchise tag if no deal is done by Monday afternoon's deadline. Stay tuned for more on all.
