No punishments have been handed out, but they could include suspension, fines and loss of draft picks. In fact, Washington Post staffer Mark Maske, citing an unnamed league source, reports the NFL is considering
severe, sweeping disciplinary measures that could include lengthy suspensions of Saints HC Sean Payton, GM Mickey Loomis, Williams and player leaders of the scheme. The source told Maske some the sanctions could be “unprecedented.” The league’s investigation cited Loomis and Payton for failing to take action to halt the bounty program. It found that the program was “administered” by Williams. The suspensions under consideration are a half-season or longer in some cases, the source told Maske. ... Stay tuned.
